I have been asked by so many people: Why are you living so far away from it all?  What are you doing up in the mountains anyway? A Retreat, why a Retreat?

So, why have I chosen to prepare for the future when so many of my friends are preparing to retire? Why not continue to live in the big city in my beautiful paid for home, in my above average neighborhood?  I was doing all the traditional things that I was taught to do.  Why trade my beautiful remodeled kitchen for a wood stove?!  Why trade my traditional, comfortable life style for a place to chop wood and carry water?

I had it all.  I was comfortable, COMFORTABLY ASLEEP!  I was so asleep I did not realize that the strange stirrings I felt were a symptom of  unhappiness.  I had some kind of feeling that the things that I had been brought up to believe were not the TRUTH and were not working for me. I grew up in a traditional, Italian, Catholic family, raised to be a good wife and mother in the old fashioned sense.  At age 49 something was awakening in me.  What an awakening it was.  I became trained as a hypnotherapist and a tarot consultant.  Wow! Did this ever shock my friends and family.

Not only was I a  hypnotherapist, but I went on to teach hypnotherapy and became the Administrator  of a progressive school of hypnosis.  I was a teacher of esoteric arts

I have now come to recognize that feeling…that inner voice… as my own spirit prompting me to do new and out of the ordinary things----- Like buying an old town.  Yes a real town, with houses and cabins, a barn, an old falling down saloon, general store and posts office. A one room school house (in good condition)  There are 25 structures on 62 acres in a secluded valley.  There are 2 year around creeks running through the property.  We have fruit trees, berries, wild grapes and sunny areas for

gardens. We have abundant spring water to drink.   All this bordering the beautiful Feather River and it’s rugged canyon, just waiting for me to come and call it home.  I am surrounded by the great Plumas national forest.  There are waterfalls, wild flowers, trails, meadows and  all kinds of things to do -- Swimming and hiking every day if I want.  There is a big beach for swimming, canoeing and sunbathing just across the river.

With awakening comes awareness, awareness that there is more to life than the traditional.  One of the most important things that I became aware of is Prophecy; I found that the same message is coming from so many different places.  There is the religious message, the Native American message, and other more recent warnings from scientific area. They each paint the same picture, but each has its own frame.  They all say “prepare”

Now, I have this beautiful place in the mountains, what do I do with it?  A Retreat of course! (With my background joining a convent would have been more acceptable to my family)

So here I am, living in a time of great change. A myriad of exciting events are swirling about us. Change is everywhere especially in the human heart.  Our spirit is telling us to be prepared… Prepared for what?  For things to come….

Now it is clear to me what Mystic Valley is really about.  We are a safe haven, an intentional community, a place to relax and seek the connection with nature, a place of therapy and education, in other words “A conscious awakening experience

I would not have understood any of these new and wonderful thoughts if it had not been for my teacher and best friend, Fred C. Leidecker.  He is the best Spiritual Hypnotherapist that I have ever encountered.  (I have seen many and none can compare)  Fred’s experience in this field goes back more than 30 years.  He is nationally known and has been instrumental in healings coast to coast.  He is now a resident of Mystic Valley and is the director and overseer of our little community.  He leads classes and does in depth and profound therapy sessions. (By appointment)    Therapies you have to experience to believe.  Fred Leidecker changed my life and I am forever grateful.

As you can see my life is no longer as comfortable (comfortable is another word for boring) as it once was.  Every day is an unfolding adventure into spirit.  There is still a lot of work to do, but when you love what you are doing and feel that you are on the right track the serenity and joy you feel is unlimited.  Some days are just so incomparably beautiful.  It is like having a piece of sunshine in your heart and it colors everything.

At 65 years old I find I have no wish to retire,  so… time to chop wood and carry water.

* Natural touch

We are sensual beings and touch is a sensual experience. To be touched and caressed feels good and contrary to 400 years of puritanical oppression it is completely natural to want to touch and be touched.

Touch is the oldest and most honest form of communication. We cuddle and caress our pets, during tragic times and events we hug each other for support, during happy events we hug each other to show our joy. It satisfies emotional needs, it nurtures the body, and it connects us in a spiritual way.

We here at Mystic Valley Retreat are prone to natural sensual touching. We hug, we reach out and rub your shoulders if you happen to be sitting in front of one of us during a class or discussion and if a bare foot presents it self we might even caress, rub and look for pressure points.

Given these natural inclinations we are expanding our services here at Mystic Valley to include (by request of course) natural, loving, non-sexual touch experiences.

Imagine… A warm, quiet place, a bottle of scented oil…4A back rub before bed time4Strong fingers caressing your head and neck.4Your shoulders or legs rubbed just because you like it.

These can be exquisitely sensual experiences.  Ask for details.
Together we will personalize a plan for your relaxing
